Product Overview

standard-neck PET preforms heated by HGJ-CL for HGS blow molding

The HGJ-CL is Korea Ever-Power's standard preform infrared heater — the default companion unit for the entire HGS Series and the heater used in the large majority of semi-automatic blow molding installations. With a 96-position carousel and a throughput range of 200–2,100 preforms per hour, the HGJ-CL covers the full output range of every HGS model — from the HGS150A at 500–1,100 BPH to the HGS350A at 150–400 BPH — across all standard-neck PET preform formats with neck finishes up to 68 mm.

The 96-position carousel design maximises the thermal conditioning queue length — at any given moment, 96 preforms are at various stages of the heating cycle, ensuring a steady flow of correctly conditioned preforms to the blow station operator. This queue depth is what enables the HGJ-CL to reach 2,100 preforms per hour, well above the peak BPH of the fastest HGS models. At 250 kg and 1,500×600×1,100 mm, the HGJ-CL is also the more compact and lighter of the two HGJ heater models, making it the default choice wherever the preform neck finish allows it.

Choose HGJ-CL When

▶  Preform neck finish diameter is 68 mm or below

▶  Producing standard beverage, personal care, condiment, or pharmaceutical PET bottles

▶  Required throughput is up to 2,100 preforms/hour

▶  Compact footprint and lighter weight preferred

▶ HGJ-CL — Standard Heater for the Entire HGS Range

The HGJ-CL's 200–2,100 preforms/hour range spans the output requirements of every HGS machine model, making it the single heater specification that covers all standard-neck production across the HGS Series.

Core Features

1

96-Position Carousel — Maximum Queue Depth

The 96-position carousel holds more preforms in the heating cycle simultaneously than any other HGJ configuration — at any moment, 96 preforms are at different stages of the infrared conditioning process. This queue depth is what enables the 2,100 preforms/hour peak throughput and ensures the blow station operator is never idle waiting for the next conditioned preform, even during high-pace production runs on the HGS150A or HGS200A at maximum operator output.

2

200–2,100 Preforms/Hour — Full HGS Range Coverage

The throughput range of 200–2,100 preforms/hour spans the output requirements of every HGS machine model — from the HGS350A's 150–400 BPH at the low end to the HGS150A's 500–1,100 BPH and beyond at the high end. One heater model, one spare parts inventory, one operator training programme covers the entire HGS semi-automatic range for standard-neck preforms. Operations running multiple HGS machines of different models can standardise on the HGJ-CL across all units.

3

Digital Infrared Zone Control — Consistent Preform Temperature

Each infrared heating zone is independently controlled by digital setpoints — temperature profiles can be configured for different preform body geometries, wall thicknesses, and material grades (including higher-IV hot-fill PET preforms for the HGS200B). Consistent zone temperatures produce consistent wall thickness distribution in the blown bottle. Korea Ever-Power's commissioning team sets and verifies zone profiles during installation for the specific preform specified at order.

4

250 kg & 1,500×600 mm — Lightest, Most Compact HGJ

At 250 kg and 1,500×600×1,100 mm, the HGJ-CL is 150 kg lighter and 380 mm shorter than the HGJ-B. This compact footprint makes the HGJ-CL easier to install in space-constrained production areas, simpler to position adjacent to the HGS blow station, and practical to relocate when production layouts change. The 250 kg weight is within the range of standard pallet jack handling for facility moves without crane equipment.

About Korea Ever-Power

Korea Ever-Power designs and manufactures both the HGS blow molding machines and the HGJ infrared heater units as an integrated system. The HGJ-CL is the standard heater unit specified alongside HGS machines for all beverage, personal care, condiment, pharmaceutical, and hot-fill applications where preform neck finish is 68 mm or below — covering the large majority of global PET bottle formats. Korea Ever-Power's commissioning team sets heater zone profiles on-site for each specific preform during machine installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if the HGJ-CL will work with my preform?

Check two dimensions on your preform specification: neck finish diameter and preform height. If your neck finish is 68 mm or below and your preform height is 160 mm or below, the HGJ-CL is compatible. If your preform height exceeds 160 mm or your neck finish exceeds 68 mm, contact Korea Ever-Power to discuss a custom configuration or the HGJ-B alternative. Provide your preform drawing or specification at the quotation stage for confirmation.

Can one HGJ-CL supply two HGS machines simultaneously?

No — the HGJ-CL is designed for one-to-one pairing with an HGS machine. The preform output from the heater goes directly to one blow station operator on one machine. Running two HGS machines requires two HGJ-CL units. However, operations running two different HGS models — for example, an HGS200A and an HGS350A — can use the same HGJ-CL model for both, since the HGJ-CL's 200–2,100 preforms/hour range covers both machines' output requirements.

Does the HGJ-CL work with the HGS200B for hot-fill production?

Yes — most tea beverage, juice, and functional drink hot-fill preforms use standard neck finishes well within the HGJ-CL's 68 mm ceiling. The HGJ-CL's digital zone control supports the higher-temperature preform conditioning required for hot-fill PET (higher IV resin, slightly different zone profile). Korea Ever-Power's commissioning team sets the zone profiles specifically for hot-fill production during HGS200B installation.

What three-phase power supply does the HGJ-CL require?

The HGJ-CL requires three-phase four-wire power — the standard industrial power format available in most manufacturing facilities globally. Power consumption is 5–8 kW depending on zone settings and preform volume. The HGS main machine operates on 220V/50Hz single-phase — the two units require separate power connections. Korea Ever-Power provides the electrical specifications for both units at the quotation stage.

How long does the HGJ-CL take to warm up from cold start?

The HGJ-CL typically reaches stable operating temperature within 15–25 minutes from cold start for standard PET preforms. Larger-volume preforms (5L–20L) may require 30–40 minutes due to the greater preform mass requiring more thermal energy. For hot-fill production on the HGS200B with high-IV preforms, allow 30–45 minutes for stable zone temperatures to establish. Korea Ever-Power recommends starting the heater before the blow station machine as part of the daily startup sequence.
