The most common Korean K-beauty IBM container supply model: a Korean IBM packaging contractor (Gyeonggi-do or Incheon area packaging manufacturer) operates Korea Ever-Power ZQ machines and supplies IBM containers to Korean cosmetic brands under the Korean brand’s packaging specification. Korean brand benefits: no ZQ machine investment; container supply on order with Korean cosmetic market standard 30–45 day lead time; multiple IBM container formats available from single Korean IBM contractor ZQ machine fleet. Korea Ever-Power supports Korean IBM contractors with ZQ machine service, mould development and process optimisation, enabling Korean contractors to supply Tier-1 Korean cosmetic brand IBM container programmes (Amore Pacific, LG H&H) at the quality level required by Korean Tier-1 cosmetic brand QC specifications.

Model 2: In-House IBM at Korean Brand

Larger Korean cosmetic ODM companies (Korea Kolmar, Cosmax, Intercos Korea) and Korean brand conglomerates with in-house packaging production invest directly in ZQ IBM machines to produce IBM containers for their own cosmetic product lines and ODM client Korean cosmetic brands. ZQ machine investment justification: annual IBM container volume above 10–20 million pcs per IBM format makes in-house ZQ production more economical than Korean contractor supply. Korea Ever-Power supports Korean in-house IBM programmes with ZQ machine commissioning at Korean ODM facility, operator training, and ongoing service contract for ZQ machine fleet maintenance at Korean cosmetic ODM production sites in Gyeonggi-do, Incheon and Korean cosmetic industry clusters.

First Article Inspection (FAI) Protocol for Korean Cosmetic IBM

FAI Measurement Protocol

Korea Ever-Power’s standard IBM container FAI protocol for Korean cosmetic brand programmes measures 50 containers per cavity across all ZQ mould set cavities, recording: neck OD (digital caliper ±0.01mm resolution, 3 measurements per container at 0/120/240° positions for roundness assessment); container height (height gauge on flat surface, ±0.1mm); body OD at mid-height (caliper, ±0.05mm); wall thickness at body mid-section (ultrasonic wall gauge, ±0.02mm); container weight (analytical balance ±0.01g); visual inspection (100% of 50 containers at 500 lux directional light for silver streaks, flow marks, black specks, surface deformation); lid torque (digital torque meter, 5 containers per cavity with Korean brand-supplied lid). FAI data presented in Microsoft Excel format with per-cavity statistics (mean, standard deviation, Cp/Cpk at Korean brand specification limits) for Korean brand QC manager’s statistical process approval.

Colour Approval at FAI

Korean K-beauty brand IBM container colour approval at FAI is a separate approval track from dimensional FAI and requires Korean brand colour team involvement at FAI stage. Korea Ever-Power colour FAI procedure: 20 IBM containers from first commercial production run (not T1 trial) measured by Korea Ever-Power Ansan-si spectrophotometer (Datacolor 850 or equivalent) at 45°/0° geometry against Korean brand colour standard (Korean brand’s supplied colour chip or digital standard in CIE L*a*b*). Korea Ever-Power issues colour FAI report with CIE ΔE from Korean brand standard for each cavity production, confirming ΔE ≤2.0 (mid-market Korean cosmetic standard) or ΔE ≤1.5 (Korean premium cosmetic Tier-1 standard) before colour FAI approval. Colour FAI approval is a separate sign-off from dimensional FAI approval — both dimensional and colour FAI must be approved by the Korean cosmetic brand before commercial IBM production supply commences.

Korea Ever-Power Ansan-si IBM mould tooling for Korean K-beauty cosmetic brand OEM programme — injection cavity plate (left), core rod set (centre) and blow mould cavity (right) for Korean cosmetic cream jar or lotion bottle production.

Korean Domestic K-Beauty IBM Supply Requirements

Korean domestic K-beauty brand IBM container supply requirements are set by the Korean cosmetic brand’s packaging procurement specification and the Korean MFDS cosmetic packaging regulatory framework. Korean MFDS cosmetic container material requirements: Korean cosmetic product registration dossier includes primary container material declaration (PP resin name, Korean cosmetic safe ingredient list compliance). Korea Ever-Power provides Korean cosmetic brand customers with PP resin manufacturer’s Korean MFDS compliance document (PP resin EU 10/2011 food contact compliance letter as proxy for Korean MFDS cosmetic safe material, widely accepted by Korean cosmetic brand QC teams). Korean brand packaging supply agreement typical requirements: dimensional specification with tolerances, colour standard with ΔE limit, AQL or 100% vision inspection, packaging and labelling specification (container lot number marking for Korean cosmetic GMP traceability), and weekly production progress report for Korean cosmetic brand production planning team.

Global K-Beauty Export IBM Supply Requirements

Korean K-beauty brands supplying global markets (Sephora, Ulta, ASOS, Douglas EU, Tmall Global) through Korean ODM partners or direct export require IBM containers meeting global cosmetic packaging regulations in addition to Korean domestic requirements. EU cosmetic packaging requirements for K-beauty IBM export: PP resin EU 10/2011 food contact compliance (commonly used as EU cosmetic packaging material safety reference); SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) absence declaration for PP masterbatch components under REACH regulation; EU packaging directive single-use plastics compliance (no problematic polymers in K-beauty IBM container). US cosmetic IBM container requirements: FDA 21 CFR Part 117 food contact compliance for PP resin as cosmetic packaging proxy; California Proposition 65 compliance declaration for PP masterbatch pigments (TiO2 exemption, no lead or cadmium pigments). 엔지니어링 FAQ

K-Beauty IBM OEM Manufacturing Questions

질문 1

What information does Korea Ever-Power need to provide an IBM mould quotation for a Korean cosmetic brand?

Korea Ever-Power requires the following information from a Korean cosmetic brand to prepare an IBM mould development quotation: container 3D CAD file (STEP or IGES format preferred; PDF 2D drawing with dimensions acceptable for initial quotation, but 3D file required for mould manufacturing). If no CAD file exists, Korea Ever-Power’s Ansan-si team can prepare a 3D design proposal from a Korean brand reference sample container (physical sample) at a design service charge. Container volume and primary dimensions: nominal volume (ml), overall height (mm), body OD at widest point (mm), neck OD and thread specification (24/410, 28/410, or custom), base diameter (mm), wall target (mm) or weight target (g). Material: PP (homopolymer or RCP grade preference, if known); PCTG; or other material. Colour: opaque white, natural (unpigmented), custom colour with Korean brand standard (Pantone code or physical colour chip). Annual volume forecast (pcs/year): determines recommended cavity count and mould investment level. Target Korean cosmetic brand and programme name: Korea Ever-Power treats all Korean brand container programme information as commercially confidential under NDA signed at programme inquiry stage. With this information, Korea Ever-Power’s Ansan-si mould engineering team typically provides a written IBM mould quotation (mould investment, lead time, T1 sample cost, commercial production unit price estimate) within 3–5 Korean business days of receiving complete programme information from the Korean cosmetic brand or Korean packaging procurement intermediary.

질문 2

Who owns the IBM mould tooling — the Korean brand or Korea Ever-Power?

IBM mould tooling ownership for Korean K-beauty brand programmes at Korea Ever-Power follows two commercial models that must be agreed at the programme commencement stage, as ownership determines mould transfer rights, exclusivity and commercial programme structure. Customer-owned mould (standard for Korean Tier-1 and established Korean cosmetic brands): the Korean cosmetic brand pays the full IBM mould investment (KRW 7–18M for standard 8–12 cavity mould) at mould development commencement, and owns the mould tooling. Customer-owned IBM moulds are stored at Korea Ever-Power Ansan-si during production (mould storage included in production service), are exclusive to the Korean brand’s container programme, and can be transferred to another IBM machine producer if the Korean brand changes supplier. Korea Ever-Power Ansan-si conducts annual inspection of customer-owned IBM moulds stored at Ansan-si and provides mould condition reports to Korean brand owners. Supplier-owned mould (for smaller Korean brand or Korean start-up cosmetic programmes): Korea Ever-Power invests in the IBM mould tooling and recovers mould cost through a mould amortisation surcharge added to each container unit price over the committed annual volume. Supplier-owned moulds are shared-programme tools — Korea Ever-Power retains mould ownership and exclusivity arrangements are limited to the production period covered by the mould amortisation agreement. Korean cosmetic brands are recommended to use customer-owned mould model for any Korean cosmetic IBM container programme with annual volume above 200,000 pcs or strategic brand packaging importance.

질문 3

How does Korea Ever-Power handle colour matching for Korean cosmetic brand Pantone colour IBM containers?

Pantone colour matching for Korean cosmetic brand IBM containers at Korea Ever-Power Ansan-si follows a standardised colour development and approval protocol. Pantone target receipt: Korean cosmetic brand provides Pantone Solid Coated reference (e.g. Pantone 505 C for burgundy IBM cream jar) or physical Korean brand colour chip at NDA-protected programme inquiry stage. Masterbatch formulation: Korea Ever-Power forwards Pantone reference to Korean masterbatch supplier (Dongjin Chemical, Youngwoo, or Korean multinational Clariant Korea) for PP masterbatch formulation at ZQ IBM processing conditions (215–235°C barrel). Masterbatch supplier provides trial masterbatch samples at 1–2% loading range in PP carrier. Colour trial: Korea Ever-Power runs colour trial on ZQ40 (ZQ machine closest to the Korean brand’s planned production format) with masterbatch trial samples, producing 20 IBM containers per masterbatch trial formulation for CIE L*a*b* measurement under Korean brand standard illumination (D65/10° observer for most Korean cosmetic brand Pantone matching). Colour iteration: Korea Ever-Power issues colour trial data to Korean brand (CIE ΔE from Pantone target, spectrophotometer scan data) for Korean brand colour team approval. Typically 1–3 colour iterations produce ΔE ≤2.0 from Pantone reference in IBM PP container. Commercial masterbatch specification: approved masterbatch lot is specified by formulation code, lot number and CIE L*a*b* standard in Korea Ever-Power’s IBM production colour specification for the Korean cosmetic brand’s container programme, with ±ΔE 2.0 (or ±ΔE 1.5 for Korean Tier-1) production tolerance applied to every commercial batch.

Q 05

Can Korea Ever-Power assist a Korean cosmetic brand in designing a new IBM container from scratch?

Korea Ever-Power Ansan-si offers a Korean cosmetic brand container design service for K-beauty brands that want to develop a new IBM container form without in-house industrial design capability or without a pre-existing 3D CAD file. Korea Ever-Power’s design service scope for Korean K-beauty IBM container development: design brief intake (Korean brand provides target volume, mouth diameter range, brand aesthetic direction, Korean cosmetic brand positioning — mass, mid, premium, ultra-premium; Korean filling line constraints such as pump or cap supplier standard, filling machine chuck specification, Korean cosmetic cartoning line inner dimension). IBM design generation: Korea Ever-Power Ansan-si design engineer creates 2–3 IBM container body profile concept options in 3D CAD (SolidWorks), each concept optimised for IBM processability (blow ratio 1.5–3.5:1, wall uniformity, stripping clearance). Concepts presented to Korean cosmetic brand for selection with IBM manufacturing rationale notes. Concept development to mould-ready design: selected concept developed to manufacturing tolerance 3D file with injection preform geometry, blow mould cavity geometry and core rod specification. Design service charge: Korea Ever-Power charges a Korean cosmetic brand design service fee for concept-through-mould-ready design development, credited against mould tooling investment at programme commencement. The design service eliminates the Korean cosmetic brand’s need for external Korean industrial design agency for IBM container development, reducing total programme lead time by 2–4 weeks versus Korean brand using external design agency then submitting design to Korea Ever-Power for IBM feasibility review.

Q 06

How does Korea Ever-Power manage Korean K-beauty brand IP protection for custom IBM container designs?

Korea Ever-Power’s intellectual property protection policy for Korean cosmetic brand custom IBM container designs covers four areas of Korean K-beauty brand packaging IP. NDA at programme enquiry: Korea Ever-Power requires all Korean and international K-beauty brand IBM container programme enquiries to be covered by a mutual NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) before Korean brand container design information, brand identity, annual volume or target market information is shared with Korea Ever-Power Ansan-si. Korea Ever-Power’s standard NDA is provided in Korean and English versions at the first programme enquiry contact. Exclusivity of custom mould tooling: customer-owned IBM mould tooling is used exclusively for the mould owner’s Korean cosmetic brand programme — Korea Ever-Power will not produce containers from a customer-owned mould for any other party. Korea Ever-Power’s mould storage and production records confirm exclusive use. Design file confidentiality: Korean brand 3D CAD container design files received by Korea Ever-Power are stored on Korea Ever-Power’s internal file server with access limited to Ansan-si mould engineering team members assigned to the Korean brand programme.
